Bag o shite!
Just another pointless entry from the Post-Punk Reenactment Soc.
File ‘em next to Black Midi and Dry Cleaning in your Bands The Queitus Likes section.
The beauty of the best Post-Punk was the reduction, the avoidance of tired old rock cliches. We’ll show you what we hate by ignoring it. You just know these fuds have extensive Iron Maiden collections.
Ooh look, a band that sounds like some other bands I like.

This forum is like watching the old grey whistle test with your grandad. "Is that a boy or a girl, he's just shouting ! In my day at least you could understand what they were saying " Let's just talk about museums and recipes.

I'm not sure posting something which sounds like it's from 1979 is striking such a statement for progression and there's no intrinsic reason why alternative music shouldn't be subjected to the same scrutiny, and even withering criticism that you reserve for chart pop.

I listened to it twice and liked it more the first time. There's some good guitaring going on and the shift in the overall timbre of the tune is neat, but it doesn't really hold up for me, and the screaming is a real dealbreaker - fine the first time in an "oh that's interesting and somewhat brave" way, but just annoying after more than one listen.

Has this thread killed preludin? Seems like the place has died since everyone wrote the exact words expected of them.

Has this thread killed preludin? Seems like the place has died since everyone wrote the exact words expected of them. Well, my forthcoming black country new road /Dry cleaning threads have been shelved. I should have learned from my Black Midi / Porridge radio posts. Floating points ,Pharaoh Sanders might get some interest. I stopped looking for Parson Sound clips to post as that is a drone too far. As soon as I can find a positive in the beach boys catalogue I shall try again.

As soon as I can find a positive in the beach boys catalogue I shall try again. If we both write the same thing at the same time, we might get complimented on our incredible harmonies.

I thought the video was tremendous, and the track almost matched it. I probably won't listen to it again, because, well, I hardly ever listen to music of my own volition, but, untrammelled as I am by any notion of what music should sound like, I just let it flow through me, and the second half was a real trip. The whole package, video and racket, is perhaps the most genuinely psychedelic thing I've heard from a Brit band (caveat: I never listen to words first time around, so if this turns out to be a song about accountancy or architecture, I can drop the psychedelic insistence down a notch). I don't get the post punk thing at all, except that's how they're describing themselves. And they're from Brighton, bless.
