I do like a nice pair of white sneakers/trainers etc. Except I don't understand how people keep them shiny white and clean - if I ever get a pair of trainers, they inevitably become dirty and scuffed very quickly and therefore lose their shininess almost immediately.
Also - I don't think I'll ever get round to having a decent linen suit. I've been looking recently and anything with a good cut is basically upwards of £1000. That coupled with living in a country where linen suits are not suitable means it's dead in the water sadly.

Protective shoe spray is your friend. That said, you just have to be willing to accept that a pair of white shoes are going to lose their lustre pretty fast. I recently bought a pair of these... ...and sprayed them, but my wife stepped on my foot in the hospital hallway when we were waiting for our vaccine shots - the very first time I wore them. I managed to get most of the scuff out with an eraser, but the damage had been done and now I don't feel so precious about them.

A good hat. I like them big Jewish rabbi hats. I don't know if I have the balls to wear one (if I could find one)

I use those magic erasers too, but I didn't know if they had them in Britain and didn't want to do a search and find out they're called Baldy's Rubouts or some nonsense like that over there.

Decent shorts. I've always been uncomfortable wearings shorts, well, at least since I was a teen. I'm tall and have rather long legs.
I am getting to the point now though where I think I could wear them since I have stopped giving a crap what they would make me look like. You can call me stilts and I wouldn't flinch.
Certainly wouldn't want white ones though, with or without an eraser.

I saw a guy around my age wearing overalls in a store the other day.
They were kind of a thing when I was in high school, but fuck that shit.

I was always wanted one in the 80s...part of me still does! I was in a Paris court once. While waiting til the case started, I noticed a real short arse ( think Danny DeVito) wearing an original Zoot suit. Turns out he was a typical pushy New York lawyer. Much to my surprise he turned out not to be just a lawyer, but the very aggressive lawyer of the counter party. After the beginnings of the case, there was a break and I went to the bathroom. I was finished and washing my hands and guess who was entering.............it was Danny! 'Look, you know you stand no chance to win this case so why don't we cut a deal, right here and right now?' The guy looked so ludicrous in his Zoot suit and was so full of New York lawyer clichés, I could only burst out laughing.

I bought some white Vans Authentics at the start of summer, never wore them with socks, and they were of course trashed by fall. Right now I'd like this moleskin shirt, though not for $195. It doesn't get very cold here anyway.
