We bought a huge crate of beer which I then accidently dropped the second I left the shop! It was a big crate too.
Obviously we got pissed to pass the time. It was a bit Wake In Fright. Real outback shit. The owner of the pub had horses and my mates drunkenly rode one of them who turned out to be lame and the owner was RAGING.
I can't remember much about Darwin apart from thinking it was a boring shithole and that I got chucked out a club for pissing on the DJs stage (he wasn't happy!).

It's a funny thing the bucket list. I guess it's a sign of the affluent society we live in that we have moved past the stage of just getting by to creating long lists of things we'd like to do to make our life somehow complete. I'm not totally against this kind of approach, I think it's good to set goals and I LOVE my lists but that kind of tick box approach to life is a bit odd. Although, I have basically planned about the next ten years of holidays. In a way it's a sign of a lack of meaning in our affluent lives I guess that we think believe/hope such experiences will necessarily create that meaning and satisfy us. The bucket list seems to me to be in thral to an idea, a world view, that I personally think is mistaken: that joy, pleasure, excitement, completeness, whatever, is intrinsic in things and places and experiences, rather than the person. Mistaking the map for the territory.
But you all knew I was going to say something like that: Guru Ray-Ji strikes again .

"I can just sit in my armchair all day and imagine the world's pleasures" Misrepresentation of what I'm saying, but never mind

So where do you draw the line? what line? Not being snide, genuinely don't know what you're saying.
What I'm saying is that making happiness, fulfillment, etc dependent on things outside yourself can often lead to disappointment whether you achieve them or not. I don't just sit in an armchair imagining things (at least, not always), I do engage with the world in front of me and seek the joy fulfilment, etc. in that rather than yearning.

My thoughts about it are that, yes, making a list is pretty normal, whether you write them down or not. But this whole Bucket list charade is turning places to visit before you die from a personally held wish to a bloody shoppinglist that needs to be completed in order to die as a fullfilled human?
I am guessing it's rather to score high on those which-countries-have-you- visited lists that places like Facebook seem to love so much.

shit, I don't have any use for a bucket list. I know how I'm going to die. SMASH! "He didn't see that coming!" I’ve had SO many close calls that it seems it’s just a matter of time.

Well, there's yer '100 THINGS YOU MUST SEE BEFORE YOU DIE', and there are your own personal goals. And they're different.
Fuck's sake. DEFINE THE FUCKING TERMS
