The Beatles, Traffic, Echo and the Bunnymen and Fleetwood Mac all put out eponymous albums later in their careers - sometimes to signal a 'back to basics' approach?

Unfamiliar with VH, Seeds, Car, Neu!, Funkadelic
BS risible and fatuous brummie headache 'music', LZ and La's irredeemable dogshit, Stooges turgid, never bothered with the Stones albums until they started writing their own material.
Bought all the others when they came out, or soon after (except Elvis, of course - even I was too young for that). Of those only Stone Roses, Elvis, Smiths and arguably Suede, B-52s and Blondie, didn't release better, often much better, later.

BS risible and fatuous brummie headache 'music' 6 Music were playing the album in its entirety the other day. What struck me this time was how bad Ozzy's voice was. I like the odd thing by them but - yeah, 'headache' kind of sums them up for me too.

Doll by Doll, better band than any of them, did the same, though
