He has a weird square head with very far apart eyes. he did win 'haircut of the year 1980' in an NME poll.

it's not too bad in that photo, but he did develop the mullet which was all the rage in 1980!

despite Foxton's great baseline (sic). i'm struggling to think of a more talented musician than foxton who went on such a downward spiral after such a brilliant early career. he was by far the best bass player to come out of punk. the poor sod is now making a living out of playing in a jam tribute band. what a waste of talent. He spent 17 years in Stiff Little Fingers! What a waste.

Rick Buckler looks even worse, like a brickie with a hangover and one 'O' level. i met buckler a few years ago and he was devoid of personality. i wouldn't say he was thick, just incredibly dull. he used to be into PROG before he joined the jam.

Always thought Rick Buckler looked like Dennis Waterman.

Dunno if anyone else has been watching Britain's Favourite 80s/90s records on Channel 5 on Fridays, but Buckler was on a few of those. His anecdotes were along the lines of "Me was in a band. I liked being in band."

I had his solo album. It wasn't bad.

Taken on their own the A- or double-A sides are too close to choose from but once you bring the b-sides in it gets much easier, I think. So my top five would be:
Strange Town (B-side Butterfly Collector) When You’re Young (with great version of Smithers Jones) Start (Liza Radley) Absolute Beginners (Tales from the Riverbank) – I think maybe that’s my absolute favourite Jam single. Beat Surrender (the double single with covers of Stoned Out of My Mind and Move On Up) Bitterest Pill too!
