It'll have to be B, not much to be said about either really.

Must be vacation mood, but I did enjoy both. I'll give it to the one that doesn't feel like being heard a thousand times.

I actually enjoyed both of those, although I've never heard such a blatant Robert Wyatt ripoff before. B also had a bit of CSN with a smidgen of Bowie thrown in for good measure, while A was just a fun sort of rock'n'roll ditty.
Hmm...

First Irish punk band, and my introduction to that nice Mr Chevron. It's a bit basic, but that's not a bad thing, and I rather like the vocals.
Quite a pretty opening sound, vaguely reminiscent of early SF psychedelia, which was a nice surprise - only thing I heard from him before was that collaboration with her out of Portishead - but it did not build on that, although I don't really get the criticism his coice is getting. We can't all be Yma Sumac, you know.
Both decent, but giving it to A as it's more lively, with a hint of nostalgia to it.

Radiators
Christ those drums.
Rustin
Remember the first record getting raves, this ones a bit plum-mouthed and sterile. A whiff of Wyatt THO so he can have it.

I had the feeling I wouldn't stand a chance with the "blatant Robert Wyatt ripoff... and then I didn't even vote.
Here's what I would have said:
Chevron has written two masterful songs, Faithful Departed and Thousands Are Sailing, but he certainly isn't the best person to sing either of them.
And that lack of charisma kept him from pulling the punk thing off with the Radiators.

Yeah, if you had told me I was going to lose one of the first four, this is probably the one I considered least likely. On the bright side, I'm doing surprisingly well on EL, but that might be primarily due to what I'm up against. It's all a crapshoot, pretty much - I've given up on trying to have my finger on the pulse of what will go over well, and am now just going for what I like, with 'not too obvious' being the only concession to strategy. Anyway, I consider this better than the Radiators version of "Faithful Departed," anyway. Solo version's great, but I don't think it would have done any better. I can't resent this too much - there might be some anti-hatz bias here - I presume most figured out this was me - but I also have to accept that others have different tastes in this kind of stuff than I. The fools.

This, of course, is the definitive version, way ahead of Christy's solo version in my book too:
