The Radiators thing sounds like the sort of youth club mini-pops-punk shite that skope does cartwheels over. Not very good is it?
The other thing sounds like someone unwillingly forced to make music. RECORD A SONG YOU CUNT! no I can't sing and I'm shy

B has some nice moments, but is just too much of that navel-gazing "too sensitive to sing out" vagueness that's overly common among modern songwriters.
A may well be '2nd tier', but it's also driving, intense, and hook-filled like punk was supposed to be before the jarheads took over.

Both pretty terrible in their own diametrically opposite ways.
A seems pretty prosaic punk with a very unlistenable, in a bad way, singer. If B was someone talking to me, my response would be this.
Abstain.

I was gonna say that! hmm. I try to be a constructive sort of guy, really I do. the first has a certain amount of urgency & the second builds up a mood by the time it's over.
I've been a pretty moody guy lately. I'll go with B

firstly, i'm a bit browned off with JC for mentioning me in this tie. i would like to go on record and say that i do not like "youth club mini-pops-punk".
the radiators sound like third-rate buzzcocks and there is not really much of a song there. the drumming is terrible. really off putting. having said that its spirit manages to piss on B from a great height. in fact, i would go as far to say that 'rustin man' is the SOLANGE of the preluding cup. whoever picked it should be banished to the exchange and mart section of preludin until the next cup rolls around.

Sorry A. The anger was really directed at the song itself and not you and your taste.

B is Paul Webb, the bass player from Talk Talk, i just read. Never knew he had a solo career, so there you go. It's ok, atmospheric enough in its own way, although it doesn't pull out any surprises either. To be honest though, A still feels way longer for me. I just didn't get into it as a tune or a performance, sorry.

Not sure on this one yet, I've always looked at the radiators as punk in the way that the Only Ones, Vibrators, etc., were, bands that were around that latched on, rather than true believers.

Not crazy about either, but at least A sounds like it's awake

A is weak tea. A Clash copy that never gets going because the song is so forgettable. I like the autumnal stylings of B a lot, I'm just not very keen on the song which is too dirge like for me.

4th tier Buzzcocks aping is lesser than weirdly sung funerary music..Taking the vocals out, the music in the second track is a little more interesting..Vote B

A has a bit of shambolic charm about it, it's a shame they go for a full-on pop approach for the chorus, because it ends up sounding like it could be a Boomtown Rats single it's that much of a failed hook. But the verses are quite lovely, and the bass is quite pleasant again.
There's as much Robert Wyatt as Talk Talk in B, but I'd say it takes the worst of both, and it sounds like Rustin has forgot to put his false teeth in. It's a terrible proggy dirge, if it feels so good to be alive, bloody well sound like you mean it. A clumsy prog sanatogen soup.

These are both pretty horrible. I’m giving my vote to ok’ Rustin Man because it’s less amateur than A. He needs a guest vocalist really, even Geddy would elevate this.
