A won't play for me, but I did find this. Hope it's the same version.
It would be my vote even if it were on the lesser end of Kirk's wirks, but it's pretty awesome. Blasphemy though this may be, I prefer him to Sun Ra as jazz eccentrics go.
I find it hard to think of B as bad, per se - it's just so ordinary and, you know...competent. Doesn't sound at all like someone who's dying to express something, and I kind of like that from the few singer/songwriter types I feel the need to pay any attention to. A randomizer probably would've done a better job of coming up with something with personality.

The Kirk track has some funky, peppy charm..The Kotzen song is Busker rock with better production..Vote A

B is dangerously close to david brent 'freelove freeway' territory. BLANDO in a word.
not overly keen on the kirk track but it does get funky in places.

A's pretty great. Like the way the funky drumming keeps the whole thing tight. B is the kind of thing that gets used as the soundtrack in a montage sequence for a drama set in an American high school as boy meets girl. Bland.

I've got this album, but it's not something I ever listen to much. Too close to funk for me, I fear. The intro is almost catastrophic for me, the pointless mumble-shouting with some horrible musty trousers on display, but the piano is kinda cool. I dunno if it is RRK doing all the random exclaiming, but someone should've kicked him in the bollocks for it. And whoever did the swanee whistle thing. Some great drumming, some great keys, and some absolutely putrid backing.
B is kinda bland rock-guy-doing-acoustic, but it's a better effort than the Peter Case thingy from the previous round. There's more of a feel that this is his own idea, something he enjoys doing, rather than aiming at a particular market. It's kinda harmless, and doesn't smell as much as the first track.

No real contest here, B sounds like something I could have written when I was 17 and prone to tell my miseries through shite songs. Kirk's thing is brilliant all along, though I agree with DF (yikes!) that whoever is shouting in the background should have been told to shut the fuck up.

I like RRK, and have a couple of albums, but, I have about 15 RK albums. I think he’s great, and you lot should too.
Great voice, good (ok, it’s simple) song. It’s heartfelt, man.

This Richie Kotzen fellow was in Poison for a while I see. Yeegawds.
I guess one of the downsides (or benefits depending on your mood) of playing the nose flute is that it frees up your mouth to rap a bunch of nonsense.
Anyway, great groove.
