ufft of all the morricone tracks to choose from! i think A has got this one spectacularly wrong.
i didn't mind the vedder track. in fact, if i hadn't known it was him i would probably have enjoyed it more.

BHave you ever been out to the Gata Nijar or Tabernas, where they filmed the spaghetti westerns? But I also can't see you being a fan either.

Yeah, not sure I understand picking soundtrack music at all unless a) it does something great that stands on its own without the visuals or b) it's evocative of a movie or a scene that's in some way special. I guess B does that a bit more than A does, but it's also way too long, and the overly gruff voice is more evocative of smoky cowboy bars than the movie it's connected to.
The closest I've come to abstaining so far. Shame neither of these are getting picked against mine.

Well, surely it can't be as bad as the last Morricone pick? Bloody ages since I've seen the film, so it's not really ringing a bell with me, but it sounds ok in a stereotypical stately soundtrack kinda way. When the swooping strings come in with the backing vocals, it's very chocolate box commercial, I'm thinking of buying me mum some Milk Tray right now.
If there was a way B could hide the Vedder name, I'm sure they would've done, it's a vote-killer for sure. Is this the kinda thing he does now? The guitars are much prettier than his voice, aren't they, which still makes me think of Crash Test Dummies. Which isn't really his fault. I feel it might try to go full on chorus at any time, and I'm hoping it doesn't, but does something a little different. Christ, he's even doing the Mmmm mmm mmm bits now. I swear I wrote about Crash Test Dummies before that happened. Long silence, wasn't it? Is he going to stop doing that at any point? Kinda run out of ideas.
B, if just because I'd love to see fonz win the cup.

A's not a favourite Morricone piece. It probably needs the film to acquire its power, in isolation it feels a little overdone with those swooning voices. B is a slightly clichéd piece of rustic Americana, but in truth the more successful pick.

I'd vote for screams from a hospital burn ward over Vedder A it is.

I have no problems with Vedder, in fact I like his voice, but this track is close to nothing, an amateurish guitar arpeggio of a much used chord sequence repeated ad nauseam.
A is an odd choice for a cup, but it wins easily here.

I've got no problem voting for A
I like it. it's good. I should handicap it for this reason or that? where's the fun in that? yeah, the Eddie VEDDER was MUCH better than I expected but this ain't golf and I ain't playing with a handicap. Ennio Morricone is better than Eddie Vedder - there I said it.

Once upon is a beautiful piece, which needs to be heard with the visuals..Outside the film context, it seems an overly mannered affair..The guitars are nice in the second track and the song doesn't need the film to make it work..Vote B

Damn, what an unusual match. Some VERY personal choices, clearly, and crazily brave for that reason. Kudos, peeps. EM for me.

How long is Eddie gonna keep moaning for?
I dunno, neither of these are anything I get any enjoyment from.
A, just because.

Liked them both, liked Vedder's homespun-ness, but A is iconic.
