I've mentioned before that film music isn't real records to me. TBF this was less heinous than most.
Pearl Jam were after my time, so I never really listened to them and therefore have no prejudicial animus against Mr Vedder, and tbf I've heard far worse vocalists get praised to the skies in this cup already. Reminds me of him out of Sparklehorse. Me and Bobby Mcgee-stylee picking is pretty, too, and I've no idea what movie this is linked to, unlike A, so I listened to it just as a track.

It's a good movie btw, if people get a chance to see it...one of my favourite US films of the last ten years.

More Morricone!
I think Eddie Veder should be blasted into space most days but I secretly quite like his songs for this film.

It's really fucking sad the way he felt that urge to go off and fend for himself and be self-sufficient. It's a very American thing, isn't it. Like Walden - apparently Thoreau cheated though and when he wasn't rhapsodizing about his beanstalks he was sneaking down to the local shop for cake and stuff.

Bit like On The Road, he leaves out all the bits when he was staying with his mother!

I like Morricone, but I’d be foolish to vote against the majesty of Vedder. I haven’t seen the film, but I really should.

Fucking Eddie Vedder. Please.
I only have to hear the opening of A to see Claudia Cardinale asking Charles Bronson if he'll return and him nobly saying, "someday.. and I get a bit emotional.
A please

I might have voted for The Man with the Harmonica...
This Vedder track is rather nice: B

Kerouac too At this rate all I need to hear is Bob Dylan's mum sent him home cooking wrapped in old copies of the Hibbing Gazette & Enquirer to Greenwich Village and I'll... I dunno, send off for a "beaver head dress" costume.

Ennio
Not as good as the earlier Ennio pick.
Eddie
Can’t bear the dudes voice, he nearly fucks up Against the 70s.

A is more mantovani than morricone and belongs to a film much further down the food chain than Once. However, I'm old and I don't mind an occasional bit of slush. I've scarcely heard of vedder, it's not bad but nothing special and goes on a bit.
