Love the introduction. I like the semi-detached vocalist being submerged in the mix ( a characteristic of many of the female-led post-punk and shoegaze bands I fanned in my second childhood), the soprano wailings in the background, the galloping pace and OTT orchestral synths. Great sprightly, youthful pop. 7.5 / 10
Middle-aged (anal) chug music. Thought this album was pretty pony back in the ’70s when I first heard it. My esteemed colleague Mr D Fish nailed it. Saved myself further pain by stopping it after two minutes. No mark

A is just too frenetic rhythmically, which doesn't suit the detached sounding vocals at all. agreed, the vocals are a bit stereolab'esque which sound odd with the music track. the hunter song is pretty standard rock fare, which got better as it went along. B

Jeez, cutie pop grafted onto a lite industrial base. Blech.
Ian Hunter
Never been a Mott-er, this is quite annoying.

To be fair, I can't believe this piece of shit won because A had fast percussion. What a weird world.

True True..But at least 6 others liked it enough..At least they didn't say it caused them brain damage or that it was a torture device, like poor Dirty Beaches... lol (Still don't understand the reaction to that track)

As per the Dirty Beaches track - I suspect the video contributed to some of those severe reactions.

You are most likely correct, but the one with the video had the best quality audio of those available..Should have gone with the Demolition Group track, in any case..(Which can be found in my ever so popular "Rejected Cup Tracks" post ! )
