I know B is meant to be unpleasant and the main reason for its existance is to disturb the old farts in the neighbourhood. But I happen to be an old fart in the neighbourhood.
I reckon A was picked as a discovery. Sorry, it didn't work for me. Tempted to abstain but I feel grumpy about the other track.

A wins by not having the stink of Trent Reznor wafting from it.

I like his movie soundtracks. it's funny how quick NIN vids looked like Saturday Night Live parodies. A is pretty neat! yeah! I said "neat"! you got a problem with that?

Two songs that really hold no interest for me - all attitude, no vision.
I actually think more skill went into the making of B, not that it has any more in the way of character.
I can barely bring myself to vote for either.

I was quite enjoying A but it did start to get on my tits, by about halfway you're thinking 'not that verse again'. It reminded me a bit of 'Where Do Go My Lovely' in that sense, this endless repetitous cycle. That said, I liked the smooth Eurosound of the thing. B's probably great if you come across it as an angry, rebellious fifteen year old, but I'm not that you'll be surprised to hear.

Fuck, I hate NIN. And I did listen, and it was seriously bad.
A was fucking weird. Not like 'hatstand whacko wibble wibble' weird, but weird like - is he being serious or ironic? is it from 1969 or 2012? I couldn't get a handle on it. I liked it. I wouldn't want to be stuck on an island with it THO'

Lawdy, what strange world has N8 transported me to. NIN are not my cuppa, and the passage of the years has made the video almost a comedy sketch. It made me smile a bit at least. A is quite bizzare - who is this guy, when and where is he from? Anyway, i do like it ok, so it gets my vote.

What the hell is this? It sounds like some kind of Nurse With Wound pastiche of easy listening, it could easily have been part of the Sylvie and Babs Hi-Fi Companion. Just googled the fella, and he looks like the lovechild of Tiny Tim and Danny Baker. Is it so bad it's good, or so good it's bad? I dunno. What a weird choice.
And I'm going to play my G card here, and point out that some of you just don't get pop music. Including G, in this case. I know NIN are onto a loser, and if there wasn't an inbuilt bias against them on the board, they'd count as too obvious anyway. But this is obviously a massive pop smash, full of hooks, a huge anthemic chorus, and a grammy winner to boot. Pure pop, in the guise of a rock song. And if there's ever been a song where the guitar has sounded more literally electric, I've never heard it. Never seen the video, despite it being directed by Sleazy, and can't be bothered watching it now. As much as I think NIN created a whole bunch of absolutely meh MTV rock, this is a properly genius slice of individual pop craftmanship/showmanship, and really shows why he became massive in the first place.

A sounds like he needs to blow his nose, and did he just sing "almost pooped in my lawn chair"? He seems to be channeling Lee Hazlewood a bit. Not bad, but it just goes on...
Here's a big "no thanks" to industrial hard rock. The only interesting thing about B, for me, is what sounds like someone just hammering indiscriminately on a piano during the chorus. I'm tempted to throw my vote to it for that alone. Yeah, what the hell...

I'm also an old fart in the neighborhood but I rather liked it, certainly preferred it to mister snotty nose.
