Heron? really? like the bird? seriously? sooooo, the one that reminds me of POCO or the one that reminds me of the Band? it's a squeaker. I'll vote B but they can both go back under their respective rocks if you ask me (and you didn't)

Heron
Nice to see my influence here, I picked this in my infamous BCB cup landslide - the true shot that was heard around the world. If the picker wants to PM me I’ll be happy to change any vote I’ve cast against them.
Heads
Gah! Jaunt and raunch.

A band from Berkshire. How appropriate. And according to wiki, they recorded their second album at Black Dog, a mile or two from where I lived in Devon. Which is perhaps the most interesting thing about them. No objections to the song or the vocals, but the backing is plangent - but not in a good way - and actually painful for me to listen to. I mean, I quite like a mandolin, but here it (I assume its a mandolin, anyway, maybe it's a detuned banjo) it just seems to be having a plinky-plonk argument with the guitars.
This isn't my thing, not by a long chalk. I avoided them in the early Seventies - who needed a British country rock band, even if they did employ a haf-decent blues guitarist? - so this is new to me, and, while it sounds very dated and generic, not to mention pointless, as hatz pointed out there is some decent strillers, and the overall sound is NOT ACTIVELY ANNOYING, so it scrapes a win here

I had a 2CD Heron Anthology for ages, but don't think I've listened to it more than twice. It's mostly pretty, but a bit humdrum strumming in search of a song - and this is probably one of their least forgettable tracks!
I like HHF better, as a rule, although they also have their fair share of misses. This is one of their best, though, with Albert Lee in fine voice.

A is terrific.
B was OK but would have benefited from a meaner production budget. A

I guess I'd be more tempted to listen to A again if I had to.
