I quite like the brashness of Lady, but there are better early Ants tracks. The other two were new to me, but barely listenable. Must do better.

I'd have liked to have been more positive A but perhaps you can tell us why you like the last two?

I'd have liked to have been more positive A but perhaps you can tell us why you like the last two? who said, i liked them? they were random choices really. i love the ants track, unlike you, i think it's the best of their early recordings. not so keen on the culbertson song, although i like the keyboard playing. i think my favourite is the committed's fast lane. i'm a sucker for this kind of raw punk, amateurish noise. with regards to the bowie option, i heard that there is an acetate of an early version of 'the london boys' which is completely different to the version we all know. apparently it's much more uptempo. unfortunately, we'll never get to hear it as it was snapped up by the bowie estate from the lower third drummer and is unlikely to ever see the light of day.

That's a shame. I can't see why they'd want to be so ..I don't know, reticent in releasing this stuff. But it must have come from Bowie himself, I can't see Iman having strong opinions on 'The London Boys'! And unfortunately he's not in a position to change his mind. It's a similar thing with 'Carnival of Light', George let it be known he didn't want it released and so now it never will be.

I like the Time To Kill one, half these tunes would be so much better if there wasn't an obsession to be speedy (something skope has heard in other areas of his life).

No worries, it is not an absolute, it is only relative to the given thread, kinda like someone being a genius in their own thread but still losing to Prince and Zappa. It's Preludin Relativity at work.
