The new one has got fantastic reviews, they must have done something right. There is a real disconnection between what critics say these days and what fans think. In many ways the character is no longer Bond now. I guess that's "progress" for you. I have no idea where they are going to go from here.

They should start by making the next film 100 minutes, this one was over double that. Who wants to sit through Bond for that long?

They have become very big and grand and of course movies are far too long these days anyway. This one sags quite badly after a promising start and becomes increasingly muddled. I dunno, it just feels like Hollywood really struggles these days. This one was delayed a lot and I think had rewrites which is never a good sign....too many cooks etc. They just fuck everything up eventually.

Just been reading the BTL comments on The Guardian review and pretty much everyone is saying what you've just done. it sounds a bloated mess with a crap villain.

The antagonist was ephemeral and pointless.
There were vague nods to OHMSS, which was sort of nice, but ultimately, after a fairly brisk start and a half-decent element of tension, it became far too bloated.
As Dougie says, I have no real idea where they're going to go next unless there is a total reset.

You get far more honesty in comments sections and in feedback from the fans than you do critics these days. I mean.... www.theguardian.com/film/2021/sep/29/no-time-to-die-review-daniel-craig-dispatches-james-bond-with-panache-rage-and-cuddles5 stars? Ok dude.

There were vague nods to OHMSS, which was sort of nice, but ultimately, after a fairly brisk start and a half-decent element of tension, it became far too bloated. As Dougie says, I have no real idea where they're going to go next unless there is a total reset. I thought it was flat and lacking in Bond spark. I mean they had this new 007 (don't they retire rather than replace?) but what was the point of her character? There was little banter between her and Bond (and of course no sexual tension cos that's not allowed anymore) so she was completely superfluous and just sorta hung around wearing silly shades. Why detract from Bond? Why add these people when Bond is the star? And in this desire to make Bond a more rounded, "mature" character with, you know, feelings and shit it takes away from what Bond essentially is, which is basically the opposite of that. He's a sociopathic killer who lives the high life, kills lots of baddies, saves the world and fucks beautiful women. And he enjoys it! That's the thing...he enjoys it but you'd never know it these days. It's like they have made Bond like us, which is missing the point somewhat. When you watch Goldfinger or You Only Live Twice we want to be Sean Connery and Roger Moore but do any of us want to be Craig's Bond? Empty, earthbound, miserable? On the plus side the nods to the older movies did give me some Bond goosebumps (well, minor ones) and I did, I admit, get a bit emotional at the end but then I ended up just shaking my head in disbelief.

G say:
I'll have a large popcorn with extra topping, two hot-dogs, an order of Nachos, a box of chocolate almonds and a diet coke!
