i love boxing and know i'm in the minority on here, but surely i can't be the only poster creaming their pants over this one?
i'll be up early tomorrow morning pumped-up and hoping for a fury win, but my head tells me that wilder is going to win early by KO. i hope i'm wrong.

Big boxing fan here. I feel the same way Skopey, except that Fury does seem to be in Wilders head. Wilder isn't a great fighter in all truth , he is quite limited (lack of movement and jab) he continually has his big punch permanently cocked to pull the trigger as his get out of jail card. Wouldn't want to put my last dime on any particular outcome.

Great fight. All credit to Fury he simply dominated Wilder and deserved his victory.

I'm no Boxing expert at all, yet can see that there is something gloriously unquantifiable about Tyson Fury. He is enormous and yet moves with staggering speed. Without doubt the greatest Heavyweight of the last 30 years.

Of the past 30 years? I think Lennox Lewis might have had too much for him.

They showed the first two fights here last week along with profiles of both fighters' training camps and history.
I don't know why, but I would have bet Fury based on the last fight. I didn't pay for it, but it looked like fans got their money's worth. Boxing is at such a low mark these days. ESPN and HBO used to show lots of boxing in prime time, but now none of them do.
I grew up with a subscription to Ring magazine, but I hardly know anyone now. In the US, the next round of great fighters always came from the Olympic ranks, except for Tyson who lost in the trials, but I couldn't tell you one Olympic champion since Andre Ward. And that was 2004.

The brutality of MMA tends to make boxing look quaint, and it seems to fit our times, despite not being very compelling.

Good points Sloop. Boxing shot itself in the foot with all the pay per view crap. Here in Britain we would watch Conteh, Minter and McGuigan for free and people still remember the fights. The vast majority of people don't know anything about the boxing world or even how many different titles are available.
