Well, I actually read the article. This has nothing at all to do with microwaves, more to do with the use of gloves, plastic packaging and other things in the food supply chain - "Although some phthalates have been banned from toys and other products, they are frequently used to make such things as rubber gloves, industrial tubing or food conveyor belts pliable and can migrate from those things into the foods we ingest".

What an earth have you got against cooking veg! of course, i cook them, just never in a microwave. i have a salad at least 5 times a week, G. i look forward to it. i got some radishes on sale from mercadona today. not had them for a while. they set me up for the day. Big radish fan here. |

Blimey no wonder you're so thin. Your food bill must be so small. You're lucky in a way. the salads are before lunch though, so not the main dish. so today, i had a salad followed by a soupy rice which contained cooked vegetables. That's what I do at breakfast or dinner if I had a salad. I'll make some rice and then put in some baby carrots and broccoli with some soy sauce or salsa and mix it up. |

I'll make some rice and then put in some baby carrots and broccoli with some soy sauce or salsa and mix it up. for breakfast? that seems quite a heavy meal so early in the day. i normally have cornflakes, fruit or toast and jam (if i'm feeling decadent). this morning i had a glass of GAZPACHO. |

Made me realise I'd lived this long without knowing what a corn dog was. Wish I hadn't found out. I expressed my love of corn dogs (and patty melts) very vociferously on BCB back in the day. So much so, that I was starting to get the nickname Corn Dog. Erstwhile poster and former friend, Django, changed it to corn hole. Whole different can of worms. |
