It's already taking over!
Two-step verification; being reminded to change your password 'because it's used by several other accounts'; facial recognition....
Seriously, I'm fucking tired of it. We're becoming slaves to the things that were supposed to make our lives easier.

Future Program: I am not programmed to respond to accounting for slavery which occurred before I was activated.

Tell me about it ,passwords, pin numbers and apps getting bigger with updates that take all your storage making phones/tablets redundant. Fucking apps that will not go onto an sd card. Doesn't matter what you look at,comment or click on you get swamped by adverts. What a fucking world.

Nutley’s is the best nutwash I’ve ever used, and I didn’t even know I needed to use nutwash before I’d heard of Nutley’s nutwash!

2-factor authentication has nothing to do with AI, it's just a sensible security precaution when passwords alone can be hacked so easily. Adverts have very little AI, largely, too, they're just using your search history and cookies.

I can't be the only one who is experiencing some kind of tech burn out then. For me it's the little things that irritate...from MFA to Youtube adverts and QR codes instead of just ordering at the fucking bar. The march just seems inexorable and it's like you have to submit and go along with it or just fall behind like other generations. I resent that and I increasingly feel sorry for older generations who find it even harder to get to grips with this stuff whilst recognising myself in them you know? It's just all come about so quickly with scant consideration for the real world consequences but the Gods of Tech are not concerned with that are they?
I suspect in time there will be more of a backlash and we will see the emergence of some kind of luddite movement but I do increasingly feel the need to back away from it all, to some degree, and just go back to an analogue world where I read books and put a cd on.

Has anyone noticed their attention span turning to shit too? Big Time. it gets worse every year. it's easier to notice in others but there's no doubt in my mind that looking half-heartedly into my blue light has cut WAY into the time and interest I devote to other things.

from MFA to Youtube adverts and QR codes Youtube adverts are an obvious evil, especially since all I use youtube for is music streaming, and bastards who didn't even create the content are using adverts to scrape a few extra pennies. But QR codes annoy the shit out of me. They have absolutely no fucking purpose, unless you think people are genuinely going to scan an advert on a bus shelter to learn more about Kellogs cornflakes or something. Just put the url, and we can click on the bastard if we really need to.

And as a non-phone-user, my only thoughts about QR codes on are that viewed as an abstract pattern they slightly improve the aesthetic appeal of the world, but nowhere near enough to compensate for the feast of vileness that housed them.
