Does the change in the seasons bother you at all? Do your routines change when it starts to get dark at 4 pm?
Are you more a winter person or a summer person (if such things exist)?
Have your feelings about weather changed as you've got older? When it's very cold outside do you worry?

I had to buy one of those seasonal daylight bulb thingies a few years ago. It always started with the leaves dropping and the first rains that keep the ground wet as the sun is no longer strong enough to dry the land. Strangely enough as soon a winter really takes hold I am not too bad. Whisky and hours spent listening to music was quite lovely. When the first signs of spring appear I am like a kid at Xmas. I feel instantly joyous again.

i enjoy both seasons up to a point.
the winter does provide a respite from the long summer here. i was still swanning around in a t-shirt only last month. however, come january and february i'm usually hoping for the warm weather to return.
for me, the most important thing is the light. there's nothing better than waking up to sun shining. it puts a spring in my step.

I like the change of seasons, though Spring seems to get short shrift. I do change out to snow tires, though I no longer am hell bent getting to work at all costs. I love the Winter for the cold clear nights, more wildlife is apparent. Though the dampness can be a bummer. I love snow. It can be magical until reality sets in.

We have what I would call "more pronounced" differences between seasons over here. In the Winter, snow is everpresent but can usually be managed. As long as the sun is shining, I'm OK. The really tough bit for me is always late Fall, like, the past onth and the coming couple of weeks, until real Winter sets in. At this time of year, the sun seems to shy from our skies during the short day and disappears way too early in the late afternoon. Also, for example, yesterday we got rain and snow in a mix of below and above freezing temps. So the snow falls and piles up a bit, then the rain comes and makes mush out of the lot. Finally, the mess freezes over, making everything icy, cold and grey. AFter that, the city spreads salt everywhere so people don't go slip and slide on their way to the hospital.
And I miss the leaves in the trees. ring on the real Winter so that we can get it over with. Spring does bring reprieve and all its associated benefits.

Yes, the relentless grey can be a downer. I think the grayness might be more impactful in the city where there might be less open /natural space. I remember for a couple years running May actually had more grey days, an unbroken string of 14-18 days.

I've definitely become less of a fan of snow the older I get. Torontonians are generally pretty lousy at keeping the sidewalks clear, and as someone who walks to-and-from work every day, it gets to be a real drag. Some shopkeepers and business owners will shovel snow in front of their businesses and some won't so you can go from a wide open sidewalk to a narrow, snowy footpath and back in the space of a few metres. Annoying as hell. Apparently the city is going to be spending more money on snow removal this year, but I'll believe it when I see it. It'll probably all go to the wealthier neighbourhoods before anyone else as is usually the case here.
I don't mind the cold - even when it gets down to -10 or -20 degrees celsius. You just have to dress for it and keep your eyes peeled for black ice.

It's currently -9C at the moment here. Feels like -16C with the windchill. Winter starts in two weeks.

Ice is a concern, be it black ice on roadways one can't see or sidewalks, parking lots, walkways, etc., I'll take snow over ice any day. Catch 22 is sometimes if you shovel too soon, ice arrives, rather than if one leaves the snow, the snow gets iced which is still walkable, safer.

I got absolutely soaked coming back from the dentist yesterday. Harsh, sharp rain and made worse by trying to drive home from it too.
But, hell, at least I don't have black ice and all that terrifying shit to worry about. Not having to wear about 20 layers and not seeing daylight until April. That is proper winter.
Here in the south-east it gets dark quickly and you might have to start your car 5 minutes earlier than normal, but we get off lightly.
