And yet you FAILED to identify them in the picture quiz. i was giving everyone else a chance, G! no one else would have got chron-gen so i didn't want to appear boastful. Ahem. I was going to post Chron Gen. I recognised them immediately. But someone beat me to it. I got PFM on the bcb Prog thread too.

After watching this video I did a little dive into how and where curling stones are made, and that little island you see at the very beginning is one of only two sources of granite in the whole world from which the stones are made (the other one is in Wales).
But what I want to know now is what the fuck are those guys doing at the end, chucking a ball down a road??

There was a period a month ago where you could see them in Oregon. Either that or it was the searchlights for illegal pot farms.

I thought for sure I heard or read a while back that they had started to try and use some granite from here in Canada to make curling stones. Not sure where from, Newfoundland maybe? But I just had a quick look around the web and can't come to a conclusion. I really enjoyed curling back when I was in a friday night league (yes, friday night!!!!). Nowhere nears as easy as it looks.

Curling is great for socializing too. Some of the gals can sweep you right off your feet. (And most of the other men are old fogies so little competition around). Curling ROCKS! Eh dude?
