A bit shameful that no one here has had the kindness & courtesy to at least post a R.I.P. thread. Calling the man a 'legend' doesn't even begin to describe what a positive impact he had on not only the film industry, but the world as a whole. My personal favorite of his performances was his brilliant, heartfelt, gritty portrayel of the imbittered, nearly emotionally & mentally broken Walter Lee Younger in Lorraine Hansberry's screen adaptation of her stage play 'A Raisin in the Sun' from '61. I'm also a big fan of the following: ('57) Edge of the City ('57) Something of Value ('58) The Defiant Ones ('65) A Patch of Blue ('67) In the Heat of the Night A remarkable human being by all measures. There will never be another like him. Peace & love to all who know what's up.
