Loads, fishing, making model tanks, collecting troika, hedgehog piggy banks, cycling and gardening. I have an interest in many things. I had to give up golf because my knees went. I gave up golf for entirely different reasons. As youth I was what you might call an avid golfer. Ages 14-18 I got about 100 rounds in a year, not bad when you consider that our golf season is relatively short (at best mid-April to end October maybe?). As an adult, of course I got way fewer rounds in but I enjoyed it until about 15 years ago when I: - Quit driving (no pun intended). Decided I had no need for a car and courses are all out of reach by other means from where I am.
- Realized the cost was getting prohibitive. A golf outing would easily cost me about $100, easily more, when you considered green fees, a quick bite, a couple of beer afterwards (and no longer in control of my travels per se, I would usually pay for whoever-dragged-me-along's lunch and beers).
- Realized the cost in terms of time was also prohibitive. For a 10am start time, I would get picked up somewhere at around 8:30, say. Then the start time was pushed back by 20-30 minutes (hardly ever failed). Then add the slow-paced round itseld, easily 4.5 hours if not 5. Then the beers for a couple of hours and a ride back close to home. I would get home by about 8 or 9 at night, needing a shower and dinner. It had turned into a full day thing. Ugh.
- All that while hoping the weather failed in its plans to dowse me through and through just to show me who was boss.
So I gave away all my equipment to a younger man who was getting interested. I only have left one pair of nearly new golf shoes for which I cannot find taker (not too many wear size 13 golf shoes in general). I really don't miss it to be honest. Yes, I had wonderful times as a lad since we had a great group of juniors at the club where I played (it cost my father $75/year for my membership in the 70s and I made a few extra bucks as a caddy for the seniors on weekends). Unrelatedly, my knees are still fine today. Knock on wood.

I collect fetuses. But if we're sharing pics... Oooooh! Your neighbours must adore you! That 6-string top-center looks identical to the only instrument I've ever owned. Had it for 30 years and could never learn how to play the damned thing. Just one of those things. Another thinng that got given away to a youngster with interest a few years ago.

I collect fetuses. But if we're sharing pics... those are the nicest fetuses I've ever seen. MY hobby is online complaining. I do it a lot but I'm still a greenhorn,
