I think C&W lyricists, overall, are pretty good, but recently I've noticed that they pander too much to stereotypes. The demographic must eat 'em up though because they're very popular. I looked up the songwriters - there are five of them and all Nashville production and songwriting pros who have written big hits for other artists. The Nashville machine. |

More very generic than bad I'd say, just very typical of mid 70s rock.
It's funny how Robert Palmer still had short hair and a dapper look, even when he was playing in a blues rock group!

More very generic than bad I'd say, just very typical of mid 70s rock. Musically, maybe, but the vocal - like a Barnsley Bette Midler at the end of the night - takes it very definitely into the 'oh God no' category. |
