I bet if you met them in person, you wouldn't tell them that. I don't like their music, but if I met them I'd tell them I have every one of their albums.

Not one of my favorites, but worst ever? Other tracks would have served equally well, I suppose. But it’s a good illustration of how early the blandness set in. Anyway it’s his birthday so let’s not be too nice to him!

Boy, that Wink Martindale thing is surprisingly terrible...Tic-Tac-D'oh.... (Sorry, for me, Martindale is the guy who hosted Tic Tac Dough when I was a kid...) ...That song charted no.7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959 ?? (And #5 in the UK ??) WTH ??

Not one of my favorites, but worst ever? I think it's a good nomination. It's just musos floundering about, there's no real song there. Mind you they had a few of those, The Police really did get away with a lot of fluff.

And, yet...Sting's hand wringing aside, Andy's solo is so OTT skronk that I absolutely love it.

A standout from tonight's TOTP
the SOUNDS in this thing are actually depressing, soul-sapping.
By fuck they were wretched times.
