I've already posted this on the SS, but thought one or two others might be interested; the story's pretty well-known, even to a peripheral fan like me, but will be interested to see what archive footage they have, and the interviews. I've always liked Broomfield's work.

There was a good Netflix doc not so long back that pretty much established (well to my satisfaction anyway) he was killed, although probably accidently. They said it probably happened at a trough because he had rain water inside him rather than chlorine swimming pool water, which I'd not heard before.

Don't know if you read the article, but Broomfield has said he's not particularly interested about the stuff surrounding his death, so much as his life.

Having read the article, it decides not to go into alternative theories on his death which is a bit of a shame (the theory certainly has a lot more credibility than the idea Kurt Cobain was murdered, which Broomfield was happy to throw around). Still it sounds lovingly done and sympathetic to a figure who is often not seen sympathetically.

Just countered some of Copehead's bs, as I did the last time there was an article on Jones in The Guardian.

It was very good. Great to hear from all those women to counteract dim bulbs like Bill Wyman. A tragic tale, of course.
But those riot scenes!

I thought it was pretty interesting, although it was all stuff I knew pretty much. Broomfield's narration was the weak point and it veered all over the place chronologically. But there was some great footage and I enjoyed hearing from Bill, who is clearly still very much keeping Brian's flame alive. The biggest revelation was the intriguing snippet of Brian's song, it sounded pretty good! It's a shame he didn't just leave the band much earlier, he would have been happier, but he was too addicted to the fame to do it probably.

I liked Wyman enthusiastically praising Jones’s contributions. Thought it was quite sweet.
Not much that I didn’t know already tbh although I wasn’t fully aware how vile Pallenberg was.
