RIP the last King of Babylonia
I had doctrinal differences with him over Crowley, and I've only seen a couple of his movies (Scorpio Rising and Pleasure Dome), but what an outsider life he had, and that was one great book.

Yeah - a fascinating figure. His early films are remarkably inventive, he had an almost mystical understanding of montage. I always love this photo as it captures four visionary, wild outsiders (the others are Hopper, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Donald Cammel).
