Last episode just became available.
I don’t know what claims I’m willing to make for the overall series, but this final season might be amongst the greatest seasons of tv ever.
Anyone else a fan?

Is it too soon for spoilers? Well, *SPOILER ALERT* ahoy.
We watched the finale last night. As my wife has been saying since the beginning, "why do those kids want the hassle? Just take the money and get out!", so it was finally nice to hear Roman acknowledge that it was all "bullshit".
I don't know - I'm no judge of the merits of these things. We enjoyed it. Does that make it great teevee?

Why do rich people seem so desperate to make more money? That old saw, ‘how much is enough?’ never seems to shake them out of it.
I think the show does a pretty good job surmising some answers. They want the job because it’s all wrapped up in daddy’s approval and societal hierarchy. That (***spoiler***) last big confrontation they all have ultimately gets boiled down to, “I’m the oldest boy.” That’s what’s been sitting beneath this whole show: The sense that these people are a kind of royalty, and that royalty exists and is conferred at birth. The darkest expression of this comes just a few moments later, when the parentage of Kendall’s children is questioned. Those children can never truly be royal according to the unwritten rules of hierarchy, because they lack the ‘true’ bloodline. In these short exchanges, the show puts its cards on the table.

I watched season one episode one and I liked it well enough but I didn't stick with it. so, I missed another Pop Culture Zeitgeist moment and I love those things. most of what I've heard about the last episode is that it knocks everybody out.
there's just too much TV and not enough time. my loss, I suppose. I've half a mind to watch the last episode out of context just to see if it behooves me to jump back in.

The last episode won’t make a ton of sense absent the context. You could do worse than just watching the last season. Each episode is as rich as a movie.
Honestly, I watched the first few seasons as if it was a guilty-pleasure soap opera. It didn’t become as obviously deep for me until this season. But it WAS better because I’d seen the whole thing.
