Nothing really stands out but I must admit I was looking for a bag of popcorn before the trailer was over. November, huh? I’ve got no immediate plans for movie going during COVID. I Suspect they’ll fast track it to pay per view or something.

I'm too lazy to find the trailer (SORRY!) But a few of me friends have been talking about the new Rebecca and now I'm intrigued. I mean, the mercy is that you KNOW no one else is Hitchcock, so you can't expect Hitchcock... But is it going to be really terrible?!

my daughter is keen just because she thinks Armie Hammer is dreamy. Kristen Scott Thomas looks like a suitable Mrs. Danvers. the production looks a little "off the rack" to me. you know what I mean? the clothes and cars and stuff are all appropriate to the chosen era but they look like they belong behind glass cases somewhere.
it's a pretty good preview. it could go either way. it won't put the original out of my mind and that'll be a problem.

I think you're right. I ALWAYS think "no one would do a remake of THIS movie unless they were going to do a really good/different job". I never remember where there's a buck to be made, nobody gives a damn. On the other hand... Anyone excited by DUNE?!?

I wish. Everybody seems to think it looks great. I wouldn’t have been able to tell it was dune if it hadn’t said so at the end.

I saw the trailer yesterday and while I HATED the lead actor immediately (I don't know him. I don't know if he's supposed to be famous... But he sure is MUMBLEY), I could immediately place each clip from the book. I never expected to look like my imagination... And again... I'm probably very naively just WISHING it to be good.

linkI couldn't resist but read the plot to this. It's a fucking tight read. Part of me wants to see it though

Can't wait for Dune. The original was directed by one of my favourite directors but is shite. I liked the story though. This director did well with blade runner, so this should be good. The TV show from about 10 or 15 years ago did a better job than lynch's effort.

EDIT: I made this post about the book of "the painted bird" - I just read the thread and have no idea why I thought this would make sense.
That book was a DOWN-er. I didn’t blink an eye when I heard Kosinski killed himself. I think Stella’s Starsgard is one of the best Actors in Actor Land right now.

it looks like Roald Dahl's "The Witches" is being all American-ized. Produced by DelToro & directed by Bob Zemekis. the trailer feels frantic like RZ's comedies generally do.
I like the preview more or less. I suppose it could go either way.

Charlie, you're a good egg. I'd think twice before telling me I make sense. I might let my guard down.

Nope. It was Sonny Sharrock.
