Alright, I'm sending this one to hatz on the West Coast Waiting. From loveless in the midwest posting? Hatz likes very much indeed! LITA is pretty gosh-darned dependable. Great band, of course (cream of the crop LA '69), but the song's interesting too - starts out ordinarily enough, but then the chords start to go in unpredictable directions just in time for the chorus, which is immediately followed up by that long fanciful instrumental section, and an orchestral arrangement with just a hint of dissonance. It's almost willfully obtuse - just when you think 'here's the hook' it takes off in some new direction. Pretty ballsy recording all told, especially for 1969. Fascinating artist even without the backstory (which is of course amazing - google if you don't know it). And in honor, I pay forward another undeserved obscurity from the same label. Let's send it out to Fange.
