Anyway talking of Nolan Porter, this is my favourite track of his. All you people disparaging northern soul and voting for 80s indie will struggle to nominate anything as good as this. It's a magnificently moody record.

It's a magnificently moody record. Love it. I put that on a BCB mix disc maybe 10 years ago or so to Paul The Fish but i think i only got a lukewarm reception, sadly.

often people can be like that with tracks that are perceived to be by obscure artists. I used to have to really fight against that attitude on BCB..as i'm sure you did!

Northern soul can certainly sometimes hit the spot, you know. Then again a maccy D can do the same thing. I'm not much of a Motown or stax guy, so spending time listening to a bank clerks demo or songs the d.j would play as the club is opening isn't my bag. My wife likes it. Her cousin is well known on the U.K northern soul scene as a d.j and collector. Moments.
Sixties garage is a bit more like it. A lot of good music and rip roaring tracks.
Indie for me, might have a shorter lifespan of quality. However, the light that burns twice as bright...
