I listen to a local jazz station when I'm puttering in my little basement workshop, and this came on the other day and has been stuck in my head since. I've heard plenty of versions of this wonderful song, but for some reason this one seems extra special.
Do you have a favourite version?

"Pure Imagination" is world class.
I had my big epiphany about 30 years ago seeing Willy Wonka and... in a matinee showing. Like, went home and worked it out on the piano and played nothing else for days.
My favorite version?
(I've played with [lead Pope] Josh Caterer for a number of years now, and I'm glad we do this one regularly onstage)

I only know the song from the film and didn't know its title. Didn't know they'd been many versions of it. The song is a bit soppy, but works in its context I guess. As for the Cullen, it's alright but not the kind of thing that really engages me.
Probably not very helpful comments!
