I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I definitely like them. They're a force for good in this piss-weak contemporary cultural environment.
The thing you've posted is far from their best though James.

Yep, fine band; worthy torchbearers of Aussie rock 'n roll's spirit.
While they're not really ploughing any new furrows, they have the kind of energy and chutzpah I love.
Have you heard of CIVIC, Jimmy? And no, not the Honda.

I dunno. it's Courtney Barnett fronting the Rezillos.
I don't hate it.

I associate Amyl and the Sniffers too closely with Jeff K, because they seem to have been pushed regularly on his facebook group over the last few years. Just seem to lack an edge of proper aggression and attitude for me. The music is too polite for the group's image, really. You know, anything suitable for Jools Holland doesn't really pass the sniff test.
That wasn't meant to be a pun, btw, cos that looks like a really shit attempt at one. But it wasn't, please believe me, for the love of God.

They are very derivative though, but maybe that no longer matters. There is a market for this stuff, mainly men in late middle age who want a throwback to their punk youth.

It's ok - certainly better than the current US teen girl pop that is everywhere these days. I wouldn't actually buy an album or anything, and I'd be far more likely to play punk from the 70's than any contemporary revival, but I very rarely play classic punk any more, even as a well past middle aged man.

I enjoyed the first single of theirs that I heard, but I had to look it up to see what it was called...
I kinda stopped paying attention to them shortly after as they seemed to blow up (over here at least) really fast, and quickly became somewhat mainstream, and well, we all know that that's no good, right?
