I say that the Moody Blues were, are, and forever will be the shittest thing ever to come out of Birmingham (and that's saying a lot) They started out with a ghost cover of Go Now, more or less invented prog, espoused the egregious mellotron and scoured my soul with Nights in White Satin. Among other things. Fuck 'em with a barbed wire dildo. May they all roast in hell. Will that do? I didn't listen to the track of course.

Wow - haven’t heard/thought of that song in decades! I kinda like it, which somewhat gives the lie to my default position that the Moodies were dead to me post-early ‘70s.
BUT: fuck the keyboards.

Yikes! Now I can enjoy To Our Children's Children's Children the way I can enjoy junk food or Gilligan's Island, but that one is going too far.

I like this one (I won't go quite "guilty pleasure", but...I like his voice, and I like the melody...and whatever caveats you'd expect me to put on liking a 1981 Moodies number...they all apply here, mostly production based...).
I don't typically reward people for endurance or longevity, but...that they made it into the 80s with a series of hits (that I don't necessarily hate) throughout the decade feels like something of an improbable outcome.

I don't hate it, I suppose. And there's something to be said for how Moody Blues it sounds. Some kind of accomplishment when everyone else from their era had to prove they were embracing modernness.
That said, you need to forgive a lot of lyrical and musical simpiness even with their best stuff. So this is, if anything, more so.
I vote in the middle.
