Yep, we're talking about the Tuxedomoon geezer and (at this point) proud bearer of the Brookside 'tache, Blaine L Reininger. Just before he briefly jumped ship from that band, he recorded the minimal synth album Night & Air. This track, the first on the second side has a great early Ultravox/Heroes Bowie air to it. Just some kind of minimal low-key epic that has been grabbing my attention since I bought it t'other weekind in Liverpool. See, it all goes back to the scouse 'tache thing.

I bailed after three-and-a-half minutes, but it felt like I'd listened to the whole six-minutes-plus - does that count?
I still voted "OK-ish".

Went great.. Ultravox/Peter Murphy/Little Heroes Bowie and some touches of Faith-era Cure.. What's not to love? Will check out the entire album later. It's on Amazon Music.. Sampled a little of 'Broken Fingers' as well. Will add that to the queue

Personally I'd have liked a bit more melody though the relentless monotonousness of the vocal does give it a certain tension.
Not my thing but I don't hate it. OKish.

I'll go "ok-ish". I like the track overall and especially like the GWEE-tar when present.

This track, the first on the second side has a great early Ultravox/Heroes Bowie air to it. So you're still buying vinyl, then. How much does a new release album go for these days? Unfortunately, that era of Bowie and Ultravox doesn't grab me at all, and I don't remember ever hearing Tuxedomoon. I felt the tempo was a bit of a slog, as if it were dragging a ball and chain behind it, but that said I listened to the end and found it definitely OKish

So you're still buying vinyl, then. How much does a new release album go for these days? Ridiculous prices in the likes of HMV, most new releases are priced at £29.99. Luckily, I don't buy vinyl from HMV, their Tuxedomoon section is crap. Normally £20-25 from bandcamp and labels directly.

Well done (again) Fishereeno.
Excellent track.
Fuck HMV. Ridiculous pricing across the board. What is with all the useless Temu style shite across the store ? It is still better value to seek out the original recordings.

I quite like it. It has that stern, formal quality that early synth pop had. Didn't need six minutes of it though.

You always need 6 minutes at least G.

Loved the first couple of Tuxedomoon albums then lost track of them. Will check it later.

You always need 6 minutes at least G. Not if a track doesn't develop. The idea is to take you on a journey, not get stuck in traffic.

It needs the full six minutes to drive home the austere repetetive nature of the track. Anyway, as if any of us have anything better to do with our lives with the time saved if they'd cut it down to 3 minutes.
Anyone know where that cover photo is? Just wondering if it's Brussels' Hotel de Ville.
