Talker and Acre Thrills are the two albums that you should check out, they really took what was current in alt-rock (Spiderland and jangle-pop respectively) and deconstructed it into such an odd new form. Did what Beefheart did to the blues, but much, much more thoroughly. Listening to Talker right now courtesy of Spotify. I hear a DNA influence, especially the guitar which reminds me of Arto Lindsay. I've been catching up to U.S. Maple with the help of Spotify as well as giving Lake of Dracula another spin. Thanks for the recommendations!

Did Crime actually have an album release when they were actually together? I know they've had a couple of comps and a few singles to their name.

Good call. I recently heard it and was surprised as to how good it was. Sort of a cross between Cheap Trick and Sparks.

One of the better Velvets rip-off bands. Guy E. was a big fan who hooked me up with this album in the early days of BCB.

My very first MOJO board post was responding to a question (don't remember what it was now) about Human Switchboard!

Young Marble Giants - Colossal Youth Yeah, this is what I came here to post. I love that record, and have only grown to appreciate it more over time.
