Nice find Jeff.
They sound too good to be true and I did wonder if the whole thing was an elaborate rouse, but their reissued album has been out for a while, so they do appear to be a genuine band. You wonder why some of these bands didn't come to the attention of writers like Lester Bangs at the time, if they were gigging around Detroit they couldn't have been that obscure. I'm not sure there was much more to it than "we're going to be like The Stooges but even heavier" but it definitely had a punk sound.

I'm not sure there was much more to it than "we're going to be like The Stooges but even heavier" but it definitely had a punk sound. I thought maybe it was a put-on too, given their name and all. File under the category of bands like Death and the Dogs, bands who were aping the Stooges long before 'punk' became a catch-phrase.
