I'm feeling A this morning. It's got a good, less snotty Dead Boys vibe that I like.

A's alright, generic as others claim but it's a genre that gets well with me I suppose. B's arguably just as generic at that, and again it's a sound and style I enjoy regardless; but I feel it get my body moving a little more.

Haven't been looking forward to round 2, because there's a lot of listens I'm fearing, but I'm running out of excuses... a I don't mind generic punk at all. After all, as genres go, punk is up there in my estimation. I haven't heard this before - only really know CID and Life in a Car, because that's the only Subs single I have. Sounded like the Ruts at the beginning, and in the riffing, but really took off with that weird spidery guitar way back in the mix just before the solo. With the possible exception of Jet Black, and definitely Alan Vega, Charlie is the only majorish punk figure (Vi Subversa doesn't count) born earlier than I was, so good on him, even if he is a rather undistinguished vocalist. Not bad at all. 5.5 / 6 b – well everyone here is familiar with this apparently, but I never heard it before and come to that don't recall hearing anything by (or indeed, of)either of the two named participants here. The piano is pretty good in a Simone sort of way, and the sax is quite sweet. Oh god the pianist has an ordinary voice. Very Simone sounding, his tone and phrasing. Don't think she recorded it. Oh, and what's up with the tone on that sax? and the trumpet has a real edge to the sound. The perils of live recording. Which is why, ultimately, this is going to get voted down. As I may have mentioned before, I'm not a fan of music so much as a (going on former) lover of records. 4.5 /10

I was pleasantly surprised by UK Subs, a band I've always ignored.
But B is undeniable, an anthem. I don't know why it never occurred to me that there'd be video for that performance...amazing

I don’t mind the UK Subs but B is cooler than a bag full of cool stuff, so

UK Subs are a bit sluggish compared to other big punk acts at the time and this song's no exception.
B is quite good. It’d be much better if that piano wasn’t so prominent in the mix though. The brass occasionally threatens to break out into something loud and unhinged but it unfortunately never does but I liked it.

Maybe time doesn't matter to you, but I'm not wasting another two minutes on A after sitting through the first 40 seconds. B goes on for ages and ages and doesn't really develop in any interesting ways after establishing that piano groove, but that's more than enough.
