My sister sent me some old photos, so here's an old photo of me (far left) as an 8-year old kid, along with my good friend Chris Fraser (right) at a summer camp for Cubs in 1978: And an old photo of my dad (bottom right) from 1981 with members of his running club. I guess it was newsworthy in our city that they elected a new executive: In neither of these photos is our last name spelled correctly.

Was your time as a member uneventful?

Yeah, I don't think I have any repressed memories from my Cub/Scout days.
The orthodontist I had later on was arrested several years back for fiddling with kids while they were under sedation, but I never had sedation with him, so was unscathed.

(David Granick is the photographer, btw, and he's excellent - more here)

Nice one! I could look at stuff like that all day long.
The shot of East India Docks is brilliant.
The website has a few ‘Portrait of Britain’ books. I used to subscribe to the BJP, and these portrait projects were always featured. But, often the pics would be of ‘ordinary folk’ but with no context at all. They left me cold. I like these pics, though I’d never heard of Granick. I’d be tempted to get a couple of those books, but I’m running out of room.
