Ellis seems to be his shadow these days. Look forward to your review.

I saw Nick and Warren perform Carnage last year and I saw Nick about 5 yearsish ago and about 5 years before that. He’s still a really great performer and a bit less preachy in his performances lately, which is good as that side of him REALLY gets on my tits.

He was alright.
I hate seeing that level of adulation. It's fucked up. Crowds punching the air to crap like 'From Her To Eternity' makes me curl up inside. And old German people trying to dance, it's no fun.
'Jubilee Street' was when it all came together for me. That's powerful stuff, the earth moved. 'Red Right Hand' was cool too. He might have eight great songs in his oeuvre.
As I was leaving (he'd played for two hours and was obviously coming to the end) I heard him start up the tedious 'Into My Arms'. Result!

Funnily enough I watched Wings of Desire last night and I didn't realise Cave played a part. The song was terrible.

He's got a huge following here. There's a particular thing he does, a particular style.
Happy after this fella and Mr. McManus it's Deerhoof next. No arenas and no £10000 in the pocket for a night's run-through of a few old bing-bongs

I heard him start up the tedious 'Into My Arms'. I actually quite like that song, but it would also be cool if he was hit by lightning after the opening line.

Off to buy Let Love In now. Kind of a souvenir - although it's probably my favourite album.

The early stuff is good, but he's become more boring as he's gone on. His later period sounds like U2 or something!

Nicholas turns SIXTY FIVE today! He's a very busy man - stuff in the press, some sculpture thing just opened in Finland with Brad Pitt, signing his new book all over the UK. The fucker can't sit down.
