Are you ready? This is beautiful. The Simpsons has earned the wrath of Morrissey after it parodied the former Smiths frontman in an episode of the show.
The singer was satirised during the episode Panic on the Streets of Springfield, which aired in the US on Sunday night. In the episode, Lisa Simpson becomes obsessed with a fictional band called the Snuffs and befriends its frontman, Quilloughby.
The character, voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, is a young, depressed British singer from the 1980s who, like Morrissey, is vegan and sports a quiff. The episode features other nods to the singer, including an Oscar Wilde poster, and parody song titles including How Late Is Then, Hamburger Homicide and Everyone Is Horrid Except Me and Possibly You.
It turns out, however, that Quilloughby is a figment of Lisa’s imagination and her dream is shattered when he morphs into a grey, meat-eating, overweight man with anti-immigrant views.www.theguardian.com/music/2021/apr/19/morrissey-the-simpsons-parody-panic-on-the-streets-of-springfield

Poor baby! My heart bleeds. It was mean. And it was clearly Morrissey. It was also clearly a parody, and fair game. Rather hilarious that he plays the Trump card (yes, that's capital 'T') - the Simpson's "declining audience." Also like Trump, it's giving him exactly what he wants, which is attention. I applaud his continued commitment to veganism, and pretty much abhor everything else about him. Including his 'singing.'

The thing is, to truly be hurtful, it has to hold some measure of truth. This was so ridiculously over-the-top, I can imagine most others would respond, "very funny, Simpsons. But that's clearly not me."
My favorite humor involves people taking their own personality quirks and exaggerating them for humorous affect. Is it cruel of me to think this is all the more hilarious, because the subject is helping to do that, but not as a willing participant?

I'm very upset that Morissey called me a murderer simply because I enjoy a meaty sandwich.

I found it especially hilarious because of the cruel twist they added - that he ends up a meat eater! And of course it wouldn't really be funny at all if Mozz hadn't complained about it.

Here's a bit more. The accent's all over the shop - which is strange considering it's voiced by a BRIT!

Regardless of how one feels about Moz, it's still a bit of lazy writing from The Simpson's..This attack has all the subtlety of throwing a ham from an overpass at Morrissey riding his Vespa..
