Tour starts tomorrow in Canada and I'm really interested to see the reviews. 50 years is one fuck of a long time - how many bands, even with long gaps, tour so long after their debut? The Stones, of course, but not many others. Also the set list.

Yeah. I hope it'll be similar to what they played on their last major tour - which I think was just over 20 years ago. They mixed up the old and the new and it was fine.

(can hardly hear the synth in that rendition and it's the best thing about the original!)

Toronto tonight, it will be important to hear how blown Ferry's voice is. Plenty of tix left for Boston, NYC, Philly, and DC, even after serious downsizing. Tix are $99, $175 and $300 each plus fees.

Oh dear...I wouldn't want to sit through that I must say. oh isn't it TERRIBLE? actually it sounds a bit better than I expected - but Ferry's singing with backing tapes or backing vox. They're boosting his voice which has definitely weakened. They played 'Bogus Man' apparently!

Is it my imagination, or is he singing nearly an octave lower than he originally did? And he's still having trouble with it.

I saw him solo about 7 or 8 years ago because a friend wanted me to get tickets and I figured "Oh, fuck it - surely this is as close as I'll get to seeing Roxy".
He was decidedly low energy, a man pacing himself (there were instrumental numbers in the act), and everything was in that sort of conversational range. That I considered him past his prime then hardly bodes well for what he'd be capable of mustering 7 or 8 years later.
