It's pretty much what I'd expect him to like. A few clunkers in the list. Dunkirk is fucking rubbish for starters

*Takes a breath* What's wrong with Dunkirk? There's not much right with it. Fractured time lines for no real purpose. Paper thin characters. Clichéd use of music. No sense of the scale of the evacuation. When Harry Styles gives the best performance in the movie over established actors. Usual overrated tosh from Nolan.

I love it, but I'm too tired to get in to it right now.

I agree with much of this, but still found it quite moving. I thought visually there was something quite poetic and elegiac about it which I liked. But I do think a more conventional linear narrative approach would have made for a better film.

I get why people say that about this and some of Nolan's films, but i thought the 3 timelines/countdowns worked brilliantly. In his defense the paper thin characters is understandable considering the 3 time lines. No real comment on the music, i liked it. You really didn't think it had a large scope? Boats landing over from england, a full beach full of soldiers, the sinking of ships in the middle of the sea etc. You're a hard man to please. My only fear for Nolan is the same that happened to Ritchie. His 'gimmick' gets too obvious and he simply can't top previous films but he keeps trying. I hope not.

I didn't think it had a large scope at all, at no point did it give me a sense of the scale of what was happening. The timelines was pointless, didn't see what it added to the telling of the story. I dont see that Nolan had a gimmick. I think he is a very talented filmmaker but his films aren't that great. I'm always wanting to like his stuff but there's always something lacking. Tenet was an absolute dogs breakfast of a film. If anybody else other Nolan had proposed that it would never have been greenlit.

ok, I can appreciate if somebody is suddenly interested in "bad news bears" because QT says it's good. I find it profoundly depressing to think someone wouldn't be bothered to watch "Easy Rider" or "Apocalypse Now" until they got the QT/Cool Movie Daddy Seal of approval.
in fact, I found it so depressing that I can't finish reading the list. maybe later.
