Don't count your chickens with ebay bidding, so many people bid last minute.
Also always bid the maximum you're prepared to pay.

Oh, OK. I've never bid for anything on eBay before. Thanks.

I have lost out to frankly outrageous bids in the past. Haven't bought in a while on there, I need to start again as it's about my only source of stock. It's actually surprisingly hard to buy good stuff on there. I reckon I only win about one in five.

eBay for the like of charity shops for records say, dictates the price. The problem is Discogs give a value to records. As we know the value of a record depends on many factors , first press , variants, etc. eBay and say Oxfam just assume the pressings are worth the top dollar. I used to spend time e-mailing sellers to tell them things such as they are not selling the first press or their copy isn't t the rare one. A lot were grateful because as I pointed out to them if their copy was not the version they advertised the punter would want his money back and they may receive negative reviews. It is so hard to find bargains to be honest. The last bargain I had was a mobile fidelity pressing for eight quid. As it was by the Beat it was slightly less of a bargain.

Anyway it looks like I MIGHT be getting a vinyl copy of Double Nickels after searching for YEARS. £19 on eBay, seller's in the UK. Might have to up my bid by a pound or two, but I'm willing to do that. The LPs are in good nick. You rarely see it for less than $50. It went for NINETY TWO POUNDS in the end. But my CD copy arrived today! 1989, SST, cost me £20. Which is much the cheapest price I've found for the album in any form.

My then girlfriend bought it for me for my 20th(?) birthday so I'm never going to sell it, but good to know it's worth a few bucks.

I ordered mine when I was 16 from Alan Fearnley Records in Middlesbrough and I bunked school to go and pick it up. WHAT DO I WIN?

Just put Loveless vinyl up for £200. Hardly played the thing and the sleeves are in perfect nick.
