Supergrass were never as great as they, er, should have been.
R.E.M. had a couple good songs, but their abysmal lows disqualify them from winning anything ever, except "Group most likely to make me kill myself when forced to listen to them" or similar

Supergrass are touring right now and they're playing Glasgow's FAMOUS Barrowlands tonight and tomorrow. Sold out ages ago. I've asked about a ticket for tomorrow and I'm holding my breath. They're only playing LA and NYC for their US "tour." Hardly a tour.

It was a really good gig! I was pretty tired though and I wasn't drinking (I had one pint...6.80 ffs) but people were really enjoying it and it was nice to see teenagers there too (made me feel old mind).
Songs mostly from the first couple of albums with some other gems through in. They made it look easy.

Supergrass all day long over them bedwetters. I'm against bullying, but I would get why REM probably were at school.

To clarify my position, Supergrass were a fine addition to the annals of "good rock music". R.E.M. did more damage to rock than the Sex Pistols could have dreamed about.

I’ve only ever seen them at festivals and that’s great of course but it’s not always the best play list or stage set up dedicated to them. On the Supergrass v REM theme… It’s Supergrass for me ALL THE WAY. They’re so rooted in a UK pop culture and tradition… echos of The Who, Beatles, punk etc so I guess I just really relate to that so readily and easily, like they’re playing in my musical cultural language or something. I just GET them more. I find them more exhilarating and exciting too. They make me want to sing, leap and jump around more. And they make me laugh.

They've got some Australian dates lined up, too.
I hope they make it to the US (and that I can get there).

Yeah, it's been over 20 years since the last time I saw them. I'd be there in a heartbeat.
