Ole lives to disappoint another day. Which should be a Bond film.

United's relatively poor performance just shows that you can spend all the money you want, but if you can't build a team you won't win anything major.

good to see a full stadium at tonight's game. the vienna fans certainly added a bit of spice to the occasion. hope there's no afters tonight.
West Ham were always in control but just couldn't put the game to bed until the last minute.
i'll be going to bed a happy hammer tonight.

Yeah it wasn't quite as flowing as they have been recently, but there was never any real sense that RV would be a problem. Declan Rice is growing into a formidable player too - if he can get 10-12 goals a season, he is going to be the next Roy Keane - maybe not quite as combative, but certainly a leader and a player who can drive forward and pivot a game's momentum as it were.

The above tweet is absolute twaddle. The difference between Arsenal and Chelsea is the latter are much better. They have better players and a better coach, nothing to do with "delusions of grandeur". In addition, when they make a dud buy, such as Timo Werner, they can afford to just go out and break the transfer record for a replacement, they're not stuck with him the way Arsenal are with Pepe.

i thought brentford were excellent. the difference in the mind-set between the two sides was night and day. although he didn't score, i think toney is going to be a star this season. I fully agree. The win today was fully deserved.

Surely Unai Emery was meant to be the pragmatic choice for manager anyway. Chelsea were trying to play Sarri-ball at the same time.

Yes,and there's nothing particularly 'idealistic' about Arteta's brand of football either. The statements don't stand up to any kind of scrutiny. It's the kind of thing people say because it sounds clever and insightful.

i can't beleieve the premier league santioned the takeover of newcastle by the saudis. they literally don't give a fuck about where they bring money in from.
nothing to do with jealousy, but if i were a newcastle fan, i'd find someone else to support.
a disgrace.

it's good to have the footy back after the international break. i hope to christ that fifa don't introduce a world cup every two years.
i don't hold much hope for West Ham getting a result at goodison. they are still very much our bogey team.
