There is a balance there that City don't quite have even if I still feel they are a bit light in attacking options from midfield (but then with that front three and the full backs it's rarely an issue). I really quite fancy them this year.
I'm fucking sick of City etc

It may well come down to squad depth, other than at centre half I do feel City are stronger there. It hasn't played a major part yet, but we are still only in October. Klopp has been pretty fortunate in only having a few injuries these last couple of years which has allowed him to play pretty much the same team game in game out ( allowing for a small amount of rotation). The two long term injuries he has had have been to players that aren't first choice ( Lalana and Ox). I seem to remember Liverpool's rough patch (the nearest they came anyway) last season came when Firmino was out. I'd be interested to see how losing a couple of integral players for a month might affect them.

Yep, lose Firmino or Mane and they could potentially struggle. Remember they smashed Barcelona 4-0 without Salah though.
It feels like they don't really have a Sane or a Gabriel Jesus to come off the bench to intimidate the opposition - Shaqiri and Origi aren't quite the same.
We'll see what the table looks like in April - I think it's a long way off yet and obviously the big test is the City game next month, but Liverpool do look like they have the ability, energy and mentality to win games like the old United teams under Ferguson did.

Yes, they have the same mental toughness.

Mourinho "open" to Arsenal job apparently.
Well at least they'd defend a bit better. He'd be like George Graham!

I'm really hoping that's just silly paper talk. That would be it for me, there'd be no point in being an Arsenal fan if that happened.

What a game last night. Some absolute screamers, ridiculous defending and youngsters playing their hearts out.
Great fact that it's probably the only game where the number of goals in normal time exceeded that of the penalty shoot out.

FT 3-3, Liverpool won 3-2 on pens (can't claim to have known this, but it was mentioned in The Guardian's MBM report, which is how I followed the game.

The Leicester game this weekend will be interesting. I think there's a lot of Arsenal fans who are secretly hoping, and openly hoping in some cases, that Arsenal lose so that Emery will finally go.

I don't think you're defensively good enough for a start and I have doubts about your manager. i agree, the defence could be improved on, but i think diop and balbuena are a good pairing in the centre. as for pellegrini, there is simply no grounds for doubting him. he's managed some big clubs to success and done well with smaller ones. his cv shits on every manager in the prem other than guardiola and klopp. I hate to say I told you so, I really do. But you're going nowhere under Pellegrini, he might not even last the season.

Roberto isn't up to it, obviously, with two errors and an own goal this time out. I can't help but feel that, even at 33, Alvin Martin's lad is worth a go, even though most of his 300-odd games have been with the MK Dons and he hasn't played at all in the top flight.
