I don't think it's as simple as that though. Clubs with 'big' personalities and wage packets to match will have players who look down their noses at coaches who are relatively unknown. Sometimes a manager appointment is there to save the club from potentially being relegated so a long term view simply isnt possible. High profile name might be an unavoidable approach for Real Madrid, but it's not the way Everton should be thinking. They need to use a different set of criteria.

a really big game for the irons today. i cannot believe that they are 3/1 to win. great odds. i honestly believe we have a better team than man ure, i really do. i don't remember ever being so confident in turning them over. of course, this post has the potential to come back and bite me on my preludin arse, but i'd prefer to make my prediction ahead of the game. haller will score, i'm certain of that.

I wouldn't be so sure. Man utd are basically being given a penalty or two in every match right now. Rashford's entire role is to run fast into the penalty area and take a dive, and it's working for them?

I'm sure he will improve, but right now Pepe doesn't even look like a £20 million player, let alone £72 million.

Pepe was actually Arsenal's best player last night. The only one taking the game to the opposition and looking to create, although he did miss a very easy chance. Does he look like a 72 million pound player? No, but I'd like to see what he's like under a new manager. My worry is his confidence will be shot by the time that happens.

In fairness Sheffield United are a decent side. Unless they implode, I think both them and Villa are good to stay up.
I worry about Southampton & Norwich. Watford look like they'll have enough to stay up despite their poor start. Maybe Newcastle too.

It’s not easy moving abroad and into a struggling team. He’s young and looked very impressive last season but maybe Arsenal wasn’t the best move.
A two horse race for the premiership again. The English league is increasingly starting to resemble the Scottish one.

Southampton and Norwich are both really struggling at the moment, but they have very good managers who are capable of turning things around. Norwich also have a lot of players to come back from injury. Unlike most seasons there's not one club who are clearly relegation fodder and out of their depth. If I had to call it I'd probably go Newcastle, Brighton and Watford, but it wouldn't surprise me if I got at least two of those predictions wrong at the end of the season.

Liverpool wore Spurs down. The full-backs are ridiculous - always there, always charging about. Robertson is the bargain of the century at £8 million and I can’t see why they’d go anywhere else either.
My worries about Southampton were correct, but that does disservice to Leicester, who look like a very fine team indeed. They are going to be Top 4 alongside Chelsea.

I've never seen an English side play with fullbacks like that. I mean the level of assists are unreal but then the full back role has changed over the years.
A big win for Liverpool that.

Liverpool's strength I feel is that as a side, only Milner is over 30. They're all around 25 - 28 and you really can't see any of them leaving apart from maybe Salah, who I can imagine going to Real Madrid or Barcelona in time because he wants to. Van Dijk, Matip, Fabinho, Allisson, Robertson, Firmino, Mane, Oxlade-Chamberlain - all there for another 5 years or so.
Compare that to City, where Aguero, Fernandinho and David Silva are all in their thirties. Sure, they've got an amazing squad and Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Sane, De Bruyne and Laporte are all marvellous, but it doesn't feel as coherent or as settled as Liverpool.
