What’s the greatest example of a non-Spector produced record that can be described as such?

The first thing that comes to mind for me is "I Wish it Could Be Christmas Everyday" (and I'm guessing Wizzard/Wood have a few others that strike a similar tone of "bombastic clutter").

The Bob Gaudio Seasons/Valli records of the era ("Rag Doll", "Let's Hnag On", etc.) seem to at least give a big nod in Phil's direction (the big, roomy drum sound/breaks) and the general scale of the tracks (going from small to big as they do - lots of instruments and voices shoring up the changes).

In my head I was thinking of Born To Run.
I'm not sure if it has that monoloth in mono quality where everything sorta bleeds into one another.

This one is perhaps the best attemt at the Spector soound - Bill Medley was a great producer in his own right, and here it helped that they had the writers and Wrecking Crew on board. The song was originally conceived as the follow-up to 'Loving Feeling' but wasn't finished in time

The story is that the Righteous Brothers were on their way to a gig when this comes on the radio. Bobby turns to Bill, and, genuinely puzzled, says "I don't remember recording this'
There three whole CDs of this sort of ting from the 60s, A Wall of Soundalikes followed by Phil's Spectre II and Phil's Spectre III. Happy to pass on if anyone is interested, although some selections are not particularly Spectorian to my ears. Will post more later

OK, just one more, a very rare example of a UK Spectorian production that works. The Walker Brothers, much as I loved them at the time (except for their wretched cover of Stay With Me), were hampered by being on Philips and saddled with crap producers and English session musicians, much like Dusty Springfield, who also had a couple of stabs at the Philles sound

Does this one fit the description? I think so.
Co-written by PS, but produced by Nino Tempo

Co-written by PS, but produced by Nino Tempo That's a right mess, in my view, bass up way too high, and very thin vocals, but Nino, a member of the Wrecking Crew after all, had a couple of much better stabs at it in the two 'love is a drug' singles he made with his sister.
