Many will miss gyms, theatres, cafes, etc, absolutely, but on the other hand getting people out of the habit of equating alcohol with leisure may not be all that bad. I can't agree there. The last thing we need is for this to be used as some backdoor lifestyle police.

The issue is that people who drink in the pub will just drink at home.
I suspect that there will be a huge problem with Alchoholism afterwards. As if it isn't bad already.
I'm fuming at my father-in-law. My wife doesn't have a great relationship with him and she rang him the other day. He just went on about how his pension was fine, how he'd had to cancel his holidays and didn't even ask about us or our son. I wanted to go round and punch the old soak in the face. He's massively at risk too - 70 year old with diabetes and heart issues. I think his wife is secretly hoping he dies.

Govs Cuomo and Newsom, who represent both ends of the US coasts are coming off way more presidential than Trump ever could hope.

They've already developed a vaccine. With the right international cooperation they can surely make it available within the year. You sure about that?

However, folks can just buy their alcohol at the store and drink it at home, which is worse.

They've developed (or are developing) treatment, I think. Not a vaccine.

Just a throwaway comment from someone who has been guilty of such lifestyle crimes. But yeah, it's unlikely to help serious dependencies.
