Ockham's Razor points to a Lab Leak. I said this ages ago and was pilloried by friends on social media for being a conspiracy theorist in 2020. Now they've changed their fucking tune. I'm not at all surprised, but to what degree has this been confirmed?

Ockham's Razor points to a Lab Leak. I said this ages ago and was pilloried by friends on social media for being a conspiracy theorist in 2020. Now they've changed their fucking tune. I remember saying to the ex that it was a lab leak and she almost recoiled and dismissed it as right wing conspiracy. It's that classic thing when as soon as anything is labelled "right" or a "conspiracy" the usual suspects back away from it.

I've always strongly suspected it was a lab leak, simply because that made much more sense. I never thought of it as being a "right wing" theory

There's a world-renowned Coronavirus laboratory in the middle of Wuhan that was known to be doing gain of function research on highly contagious viruses. I mean, you'd have to be fucking thick or just wilfully obtuse to completely discount it, as many so-called experts seemed to be doing in April 2020.
It had to be at least part of the discussion, even if it was just "well, there's a laboratory there, so we have to take that into the equation", rather than "no, it's not possible".

But that's why it was so odd! As soon as you labelled it a conspiracy some people backed away from even considering the obvious.
I saw it myself in the real world. Oh no, don't be daft! And yet we were meant to believe it was a fucking BAT in a food market lol

It was also the fact we were supposed to believe the official events according to the CCP. That itself was hilarious.
The whole experience really exposed something in people and I felt that at the time. You could see who the conformists were, the ones who just went along with every dominant thing. Man, the last few years have been FUCKING WILD.
But you live and learn.

I've always strongly suspected it was a lab leak, simply because that made much more sense. I never thought of it as being a "right wing" theory The “right wing” part was the jump to conclusions. Using myself as an example of “the left” here…I never dismissed the possibility that a lab leak might have caused it. That always seemed plausible to me. But I’d encounter these screeds by conspiracy types that would assert that along with weird claims about 5G, Bill Gates, Dr. Fauci, anti-vax propaganda, and claims of Chinese “attacks.” What I seldom (if ever) saw was any of these people arguing soberly that we ought to wait and see, but keep an open mind to the possibility of a lab leak (which was ALWAYS my personal position). In short - the reason that most of the folks trying to I-told-you-so this were dismissed as conspiracy theorists, is that they WERE conspiracy theorists.

I dunno why the far right-wing don't like China anyway. After all they like Putin.

Pushing journalists out of windows. Subverting democracy. Invading neighboring countries and killing their civilians. You know… traditional Christian values.
